Winthrop moms
Have any of you taken or plan to take the educational classes at Winthrop? We are considering a couple and wondered if anyone had any feedback.

We took the Labor Prep (lamaze) class- and it was very informative.
We also took the breastfeeding class and the baby care class and honestly could have done without both of them.

I took Baby Care and Breastfeeding.
I think if you are going to BF all the classes, books and knowledge going in can only help!

We went to orientation, and took the BF class. They were both pretty good. I did not do the tour b/c I had a scheduled c-section. I was registered for the child care class but missed it b/c I was delivering DS
They do have a child care class in the nursery once you deliver. it is every day at 12:30.

Is the 150 for lamaze the charge per couple or per person? I am thinking of doing the breastfeeding one too - someone I know took it and recommended it.

Same for me.
I went to the nursery class they have every day.
I went to the orientation (which I recommend!) and the tour (I though that was a waste of time since you don't see anything!).
I took classes at BRU.

Here is the number I called to set it up... they gave me two options for times... One was 6-8 and the other was 8-10.... we are doing the 6-8 one.... let me know how it goes.... :)

We signed up for the Baby Prep class (Lamaze) starting this Thurs - anyone else in this class?
I also signed up for the Breastfeeding class on Sept 12th and the Baby Care class on Sept 19th. Two questions about these classes:
1. For those who took Breastfeeding or are going to take it - did you go alone or did DH go with you? I was planning on DH going with me, but a friend told me at her hospital it was all women and she went with another pregnant friend.
2. For those who took the Baby Care class - should I just take it when I am in the hospital after I deliver? Is it free then?

The lady in charge of the classes does not work every day. She is good at returning phone calls though if you leave a message.
