Witching hour

so i noticed with my newborn that b/t 7-9PM he gets very cranky and doesn't know whether to eat, sleep, cry, etc.
Before that and after that he is so good, i am wondering if anyone else's little ones goes through that too?

He can not be soothed unless he is in someone's arms being walked around.

Hey!!! Just wanted to say congrats and good to see you here.

DS's time is 5:30 - 9:30. It's crazy and we run around trying so many things. I can't wait for it to be over.

Re: Witching hour

Yeah, we've noticed a pattern with this time too. Although, on bad days, every hour is the witching hour Chat Icon

Re: Witching hour

Our DS changes it up on us all the time but it usually happens in the late afternoon to evening hours.

Oh, I remember those days. It will get better. I heard that it's their way of letting out their frustrations/stresses of the day.

Re: Witching hour

Chris is definately like this. He is happiest in the morning-afternoon. At night I make sure he eats and then swaddle him for the night.

Re: Witching hour

I think we might have passed this - Ainsley used to have a meltdown at 6:30 - wouldnt last too long, but it was like clockwork. I think it stopped at around 8 weeks - she's 10 weeks now.

Re: Witching hour

YES!!!! I think it is that he can't decide what he wants to do but it also takes them awhile to wind down after all the stimulation from the day.
