With the holidays coming, lets start a thread to help each other with toy recs

I think it will be helpful if we all state our dcs age range and their favorite toys. That way we can refer to this while looking for ideas.

My DD is 3 months. So in the 0-3 range she loved Jaque the Peacock by Lamaze, her Fisherprice Jungle playmat, and those soft plastic books by sassy that she can put in her mouth.

I'm looking for 3-6 & through 1 year toy recommendations!

Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Farm (starting at 6 months- at least 18 months)

My DS loved the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Farm. It was a wonderful toy for him to use at different ages. As soon as he could sit unsupported I would sit him in front of it and he'd reach for things. He came to love and play with the toy more and more as he grew. Worth every penny!

Leap Frog My Pal Scout
DS got this for Christmas when he was 14 months old and he smiled as soon as he saw it. Was an absolute favorite for months to come and he uses Scout for lots of pretend play now at almost 2.

These are 2 that stand out for us.

I already started my shopping since we will have a newborn around the holidays.

DD is 3.

- Disney Princess scooter ( i saved $9 by getting it on ebay, brand new)
- stocking stuffers - headbands/princess chapsticks/bracelets/necklaces
- Vtech Mobigo Toy Story game
-activities (brain quest, activity books, stickers fun)

DD is very into cutting and gluing, we have done this book already and she loved it so I bought it again

DD is 8 months and she loves the Lamaze firefly, FP rainforest jungle gym.

Truthfully, her favorite toys are paper, cardboard and pens... Chat Icon Chat Icon

3-6 mo, DS loved the jumperoo
As far as small toys, he loved the Whoozit (a weird looking circular stuffed toy that he liked to bit the nose of).

6-9 months, he liked this snail that moved when you hit the tail & made music.

12 months: musical toys (he played with one so much it broke... so I can't really recommend it) & stacking toys. He loves books (esp those with things he can feel and TOUCH with animals: eg. fake animal fur books)

from 8m and on

- Fisher Price Learning Home
- Vtech - Count and Learn School Bus
- any kind of balls
- Melissa & Doug See & Spell Melissa & Doug See & Spell (we used it without the tiny letters for a while, and then only use tiny letters when I'm playing it with him)

from 14m and on

- P'Kolino Puzzle Stacker
- megablocks
- Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Corn Popper Push Toy
- Fisher-Price Walker-To-Wagon

from 18m and on

- Stickers/Crayons/Chalk anything of the like
- rocking horse
- buckets/boxes - anything he can put things inside and carry around
- stuffed animals are suddenly a bid deal
- broom/mops/pots/spoons anything to help mommy cook and clean

He's so much more inventive with his play now at 18m. He's devising his own games with objects like balls and pilows.

Great idea!

4-8 months -- jumperoo, exersaucer, assortment of different balls (bendy ball, sassy set of 3 balls, etc.), fisher price go baby go crawl along snail and go baby go crawl along musical ball (with monkey on top) for tummy time and early crawling. He also LOVES taggies -- he has the taggie ball and taggie elephant.

What a great idea!

DS is 5.5 months and loves basically anything he can stick in his mouth and suck on lol

~ Mickey head on the little blanket
~ The flat elephant that crinkles
~ The baby einstein octopus! I added some of those ring things and he loves it.

He also loves books, board and fabric, esp if they make noise!

and now that he can grasp and hold things better he likes rattles.

And his play mat, I put a mirror hanging from the top, and he could seriously spend an hour laying there looking at himself lol!!!

Her Sprinkler beachball for outside
Her sand and water table for outsode, but we did both sides with water.

DS - 2.5 y/o. Obsessed with tools and trains lol. We just got him the home depot travel work bench, DO NOT recommend..it's a piece of poo lol. He also has the Melissa and Doug wooden toolbox and some other tools..love those. We are getting him a train table for Christmas. He is also very much into drawing, coloring and stickers.

DD - 1 y/o. She is very into her brothers toys lol, she loves the tools also and playing with cars. She loves Scout, and her shape sorters and stacking rings. She also LOVES touch and feel books.

DS will be almost 6 mos for christmas. I created an amazon wishlist. I tried to keep in mind that even though DS will be 6 mos...these toys will be keeping him occupied until the following 1Y birthday or even the following christmas. on it I have :

Pocoyo Dvd's
Moose & Zee plush
FP ocean wonders soothe & glow seahorse
pirate hand puppet
star wars kids tabletop dishware set
American Innovative Teach Me Time! clock
Vtech learn & discover driver
FP "the farmer says"
Infantino Penguin Bowling
FP Go baby go crawl along snail
Teach My Baby
sassy pop n push car
B.E neptune soother
tiny love developlay activity center

still figuring out what else to add bc between all the grandparents, aunts, and us...thats def not enough! DH's parents do christmas BIG for the kids.

ugh...i gotta clean out my basement storage room for the influx of brightly colored plastic toys Chat Icon Chat Icon
