Wood banister companies
Has anyone replaced the wood banister in their home or know anyone who has? Any recommended companies?
We have a banister that wraps around the upstairs hall and down the steps. It's metal (very 70's) and the opening are just wide enough for a little one to get their head stuck We are also redoing the floors soon so we want to also replace the banister. It's probably upwards of 30 to 40 feet and a custom job.
We are in East Northport.
TIA

Re: Wood banister companies
We used Golden Oak on Sunrise HIghway in Bellmore. We are really happy with the job they did. The railing goes along our landing, down the stairs and then along another landing. There is a gooseneck in there too.
We had a few companies give us quotes and they were the cheapest and we checked several of their references and they were all happy.

Re: Wood banister companies
we just put in a new staircase, ballisiters, and rails. we went with blooming grove stair company and they were wonderful. They make everything custom, so if you want something unique they can do just about anything.

Re: Wood banister companies
Can anyone share what the cost is for a new banister? We don't have one on our stairs and I have no idea what it would cost for a wood one.

Re: Wood banister companies
Ours cost about 1300. Not that big a space (we have a split) so the landings were about 6.5 feet of railing and then about 7 steps or so.
