Wood Burning Fire Pit?

So my father apparently wants a fire pit for the backyard for Father's Day. That's fine by me, at least I know what to get him! But, I don't really know where to look! I checked out Target and Bed Bath and Beyond and there's some nice ones but they all have mixed reviews and nothing is really wowing me. I'd like to keep it under $200. Purchasing online is fine, ideal actually. Please recommend your fire pit! Chat Icon

ETA: Actually- I just checked out Overstock and really liked this one! What do you think?

Link.

That's really nice.

Also check out lowes and home depot. DH just bought a chiminea instead of a fire pit for the time being.

Oh those are so cool!

ETA: I have to go to HD on Sunday anyway so I'll check there. If nothing jumps out at me, I'm ordering this guy! Thanks! Chat Icon

Wood Burning Fire Pit?

Just a FYI. We have one that is similar and even though it says rust resistant paint......IT's NOT.

We have had our for 3 years and looks like we have had it for 90. we do not leave it out in the winter but it is out in the rain during the season. I would spend a little more and get a nice one that will last.

I don't know that nicer ones are more rust-resistant. We spent about $200 on ours and still sprayed it with rustoleum paint before using it based on reviews.

There is a stone one at Home Depot that my Dh loved. I'm on my iPhone so I can't post a pic.

Almost all fire pits are made of steel, so no matter what you do, they will eventually rust. You can stay on top of the rust by keeping it covered, and hitting any rust that is starting with rust conversion paint.

I built my own out of cement wall blocks because I didn't want to deal with rust, either.

Ours was $200 and rusted too. Chat Icon

I had a tile one before the one I have now and it didn't rust at all!

Chat Icon I hate that!!!

Thanks everyone!! I've been checking the materials and they seem to be exactly the same one the more expensive ones. This brand is actually the same brand as some of the $200+ ones from BBB. He's good though about taking care of things like that. His grill is his baby! lol!

ETA: I ordered it! Chat Icon
