Ironically we did this years ago with AIDS remember? Before we were better educated we feared them, exiled them and if given a chance would have quarantined them.
When did we do this with AIDS, specifically? Not challenging you but not sure I recall any of this.
And I think this is much easier to get than AIDS, otherwise the 2 nurses in Texas would not have contracted it. AIDS isn't that easy to contract, even if blood or body fluid get on you.

Specifically banning incoming flyers? I am not aware. Telling a basket ball player to quit because he has aids and touches people, yes. And I am sure there were tons of other cases were public would outcast a person due to their HIV status and just not KNOWING better. Telling children OF AIDS victims they couldn't go to school? Probably. Those first few years were messed up when we KNEW but didn't want to believe the way it was transmitted. Its the same mentality that gave those with transfusions a rep for being gay because we believed only gay men had AIDS.
The AIDS epidemic was unpleasant (still is) but we know better now. You have AIDS, Ok.. not a big deal.
I however DO think Ebola is a bit easier to spread that AIDS. Specifically to the medical community. I am, however, not in that field and so I feel unphased. I believe the public is safer with Ebola than the spread of AIDS because Ebola's short incubation period leaves no doubt where as you could have AIDS and transmit it without knowledge. Death is higher with those affected by Ebola I would think than AIDS but I have no hard proof.

Yup this was a big screw up on Christie's part. I get they whys however so poorly thought-out. And the things he said like she is obviously sick and hope she feels better!?
I still havent found an answer to what are we doing with our military that come back from west africa on tours related to ebola!?

The military will be quarantining soldiers for 21 days upon return. Just read this on Fox News.
