WORDING FOR "DESSERTS ONLY" BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION
DD's 3rd birthday party is next month at Gymboree and its a desserts only party - from 3-4:30. I want to let everyone know on the invitation that there will only be desserts, no "real food" . So , cake, cookies, fruit etc but no pizza. Does anyone have suggestion for how to word it ? or any cute sayings?

I think how you stated it says it al please join us for some afternoon fun and dessert only party.
why do you feel the need to make sure people know its dessert only. You are offering a variety of food?

Re: WORDING FOR "DESSERTS ONLY" BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION
Please join us for games and cake to celebrate so & so's birthday. Then list the party details.
That should be clear enough without calling to much attention to that fact that there is no food being served.

Because if you read these boards, people EXPECT a meal at a birthday party.
I recently had a Halloween party and put "snacks and desserts will be served". So something like that is fine.

WORDING FOR
Thanks for the suggestions . Yes, Gymboree has a party that doesn't allow pizza, only cake/cupcakes. I just want to make sure my guests don't come expecting to have lunch/dinner and end up leaving hungry .

Re: WORDING FOR "DESSERTS ONLY" BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION
"Please join us for cake and fun" ?
I also think it isn't terrible if they expect pizza at this time and do not get it, with a party at that time people will most likely have had lunch already and it ends before normal dinner time.

WORDING FOR
What about if you say something in the footnote of the invite like - Snacks and cake will be served for everyone to enjoy!

Re: WORDING FOR "DESSERTS ONLY" BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION
lots of invites have said "cupcakes and juice will be served" which essentially said no meal is being provided. I would just state something like "dessert will be served in celebration"...

And add:
Don't get mad at me... Blame Gymboree!
I couldn't resist! I am having too much fun with rhyme time!

This exactly! Its funny bc anytime any one asks on these boards whether its ok to have a cake only party the response usually is .. yes, just make sure you specify it on the invite. SO that is what I am planning on doing, just wanted to make it sound cute and clever if possible
