Work question...
In particular those with twins / triplets and an additional singleton DC..
Just wondering if after the birth of the twins / triplets did you continue to work full time? Try it for a while and then find you couldn't continue on the same schedule?
I work FT, 5 days in the office now, and my plan after maternity leave is to work 2 days from home and 3 in the office. I would REALLY eventually like to get down to 4 days a week - 3 in the office and 1 from home, 1 off.
Just curious what others have done...thanks

Re: Work question...
I have no choice but to work FT.
I went back to work FT when the babies were 11 weeks old. Unfortunately I can't do my job from home :(
I would love to go down to 3 days, but that's just not a possibility financially for us at this time (or anytime in the near future).

Re: Work question...
I only have my twins now but my plan is to do the same thing when this baby comes. I work Monday to thurs 8 to 240. Ideally I would love to do 3 days but not financially possible for us. I don't see why working full time wouldn't work out but since I have the flexibility I am doing 4 days. Will you have help at home the days you work from home?

Re: Work question...
No that's the thing, we cannot afford to put them in daycare full time so I will be WFH 2 days with no help. Most of my job is online, answering emails and coordinating logistics so I think it is do-able...and if it becomes more than I can handle I will have to re-evaluate.

Re: Work question...
I went back to work at 13 weeks. I worked 4 days for a month.. now Im working 5 days... sometimes 1 from home.
Its incredibly hard... I miss them so much but thankfully we have family to help so it makes sense to save as much as we can while they are young. Ill re-evaluate at the end of the year though.
Id love to work part time, but my job makes it so hard for me to leave.

Work question...
I went back to work at 12 weeks - it was hard but necessary financially. Then I tried something more flexible but that changed so now I am working on opening my own business so that I have the flexibility I want
we had a nanny - it was cheaper than 3 in daycare and lots easier for me to get out of the house but it was very difficult

Re: Work question...
I was working p/t before the twins were born. I left my f/t job when my first DC was one, and got a great p/t job. I work ~20 hours a week... 2 long days at work and a few hours from home as needed (emails, conf calls, etc). I kept the same schedule after the twins were born. For me its the best of both worlds. It would be nice if you can go down to 4 days at least!

Re: Work question...
I went back to work part time, 3 full days a week, when my twins were 4 months and my older DS was 3.5 years old.
I am still working this schedule 5 years later. I don't think I will ever go back to working full time.

Re: Work question...
I work full time in the city with a toddler and twin infants. I sometimes can work from home fridays. It's hard but we have an awesome nanny- it would be extremley difficult without her.

Re: Work question...
I went back to work FT when were 15 months. My DH works 2:15 to 11:15. I work 6:50 to 3:50 pm. I have a rotating schedule, so, take this week- Im off Mon, Tues, Wed.and work Thursday thru Monday. We have a babysitter that comes to our house noon til 5pm. So some weeeks are girls are with a babysitter only 10 hrs per week. It works well for our family. I love being off during the week- Im able to get alot done- mommmy n m classes,dr visits, errrands, etc.

Re: Work question...
I had to quit my job once the twins were born. My salary would barely cover daycare so there was no point to continue working. We do however, miss the excellent insurance my company provided.

i would have written this.
its not as hard as i thought it would be, though. i feel like "I" am doing better because I am working.
