Re: working moms
My MIL is going to watch her m-w and my friend Janine (who has a 14 month old) will watch her Thursday and Friday (she works part time and these are the days she has off)
This will give my MIL a break and let Mikayla have some interaction with another baby

Re: working moms
My ex MIL does it fulltime...but now that DS is approaching 3yo we are looking to put him into a pre-school, at least a few days a week.
He lives with my ex during the week and me on the weekends because he lives in Shirley and I live in Queens, plus he has family and "support" that have been in DS's life since he was born and I have no family here in NY and therefore, no support.

Re: working moms
Daycare. DH and I were just talking about it last night and how happy we are with our situation. She goes to daycare at a local synogogue, 2 blocks away. There's two teachers for about 6 babies, and she has been in the same class with the same 2 girls since 10 weeks old, and they've become close friends, hugging and kissing each other everytime they see one another. Her development has been phenomenal at this place, learning sign language with the other babies (she's up to about 20 words now), taking music classes and comes home everyday with arts and crafts projects. She has learned to say please and thank you for everything, and even learned to cover her mouth when she sneezes or coughs. And, this is all at only 16 months... I couldn't be happier

Daycare... DH and I had the same convo last week. Bella has been in the same class with about 5 kids since January of '06...I love the connections she's made. She's had 3 teachers overall and LOVES them all...
I feel good about dropping her off every day...

Re: working moms
Right now DD comes to work with me, I work for a small Co. I am the only office worker, so it is working for now, but some days I feel guilty, so I will be looking into daycare probably by the time she is 6 months old. We'll see....

Re: working moms
You are all so lucky that you have the support of your family to watch your DC. Unfortunately, due to distance, it was not feasible for our family to watch DS. We were very torn wit what to do as well and decided on a nanny (live-out). Our hours are too long and varying for daycare to work for us.

Re: working moms
Al works from home, and I have a home office in my parents house, so she's usually with one of us, though we both technically work full time.
If he's traveling and I have appts, she's usually with my MIL.

Re: working moms
Who doesn't watch her is the question!
All family...
My mom watches Katherine on Tues. and Wed.; my MIL watches her on Mon. and Thurs.; and my cousin watches her on Fridays...whew! Sometimes I don't know where I'm going!!
