Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
I cannot wrap gifts at like midnight as I am a diva and need my sleep. I have a five year old and an 8 year old and I feel like they are always under my feet making it hard.
Tips?

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
i would ask someone to take them out for a bit. maybe dad can take them out to lunch, while you wrap.
i used to wrap gifts as soon as DS fell asleep.

Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
Is there maybe a time your dh or another family member could take them out for a little while to give you some time at home alone to wrap gifts?

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
i've done it on a weekend when i know he's watching a movie. I tell him i'm wrapping other peoples gifts so he doesn't pay much attention. But mostly i do it after he's gone to bed

I will work from home one day that she is in school and do it then. Or on Xmas Eve sadly - after she goes to bed

I usually send them off to grandma's for a long afternoon so we can wrap and get organized.

Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
My kids are upstairs and in bed by 8, so I wrap a bunch of gifts each night for the week leading up to Christmas. I can’t imagine I’d do it any other time even if I wasn’t working.

In my family, santa didn't wrap gifts. My mother worked 12 hours a day and had 4 of us and a husband who was a true Italian man who did nothing lol
Everyone else I know who works, does it Christmas eve

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
I always do it Christmas Eve. I like my sleep too, but it's only one night. And, I stuff my face on the cookies that we make for Santa. This year, we're leaving him a gingerbread house and I can't wait.

I knew it! Its totally the Italian man thing-- no wonder my husband rambles on about how everything is "my job"
To OP- I actually make my husband take my kids out (which means his mother's house) for a few hours the weekend before. Otherwise I do it at night after they are in bed.

Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
DH takes them to work and wraps there. Honestly I can't be bothered and I run a business from home and am extremely busy this time of year in addition to my FT job. Family hardly sees me for the month of Dec.

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
Ugh, just this side of never. I'm great at shopping! The wrapping not so much. Last year I was so on the ball, I was in bed on Christmas Eve at 10:00 PM and that was mostly artfully arranging the gifts after DD went to bed.
I actually had a dream last night that nobody wrapped any gifts and we just handed each other a bunch of Amazon boxes and let them open that. And it made me SO sad. So I *say* I'm going to start tonight but who knows.
And I feel you, I NEED to sleep. I'm in bed so early since I wake up at 5:00 AM. Though I have major pregnancy insomnia. You'd think I'd wrap gifts at 2:00 AM but no, I just lay in bed and stare at the ceiling.
ETA: My DH is "bad" at wrapping. So he wraps nothing but my gifts. And I will admit they look awful. I swear he does it on purpose to get out of doing it.

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
I wrap them when I'm working from home or after the kids go to bed. There were a couple I had to wrap when they were home, so I told them I was going to wrap Chanukah gifts in the other room and if they came in, they weren't getting any of the gifts. They stayed out easily.

Wrap for 30 min a night when kids are in bed.If you start doing it nightly now you'll be in good shape. I put on one of my housewives or whatever shows I DVR and wrap. When the show is over I put everything away and go to bed.

Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
I'm hoping to call out sick next Thursday to wrap gifts and attend my DD's school Holiday Party. If that doesn't work out then I will wrap after they go to bed starting the end of next week.

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
My problem with wrapping when she is in bed is that my daughter has this bad habit of waking up a few hours after she falls asleep, not being able to fall back to sleep and coming out of her room to look for me. I tend to stay up late on the weekends especially so a lot of times she will find me on the couch watching TV. It doesn't happen every night and it can go for weeks without it happening, but then BAM it happens.
So I have this fear of her walking out of her room to find me spread out on the living room floor wrapping.. Our house is very open floor plan so the only rooms with doors are the bedrooms and my DH goes to bed early so I can't wrap in there- plus there isn't a ton of room in my bedroom the way the furniture is laid out.
So I have to sneak it when she's in school
Definitely annoying.

I have been sending everything to my Dad's house and went last Friday after work to do all my wrapping. Told kids I was working late.

Re: Working Moms...when do you wrap gifts?
Never. After years of this dilemma Santa only brings XL personalized canvas sacks with unwrapped toys in it. Saves time, $, and clean up time. For some toys it makes sense to take them out of the package to make room in the sack. Why would Santa put all of those adultproof twisty ties in toy packages anyways? Lol

Me too! I have been actively seeking out a new show to binge watch and I'll watch an episode each night.
I have to say I like the santa sack idea though.
