I don't get it...she eats yogurt made with whole milk and cheese and no reaction. I just started mixing her formula with organic whole milk and she totally rashes out in her diaper area. It's completely related to the milk...don't know what to do! Suggestions? TIA!

How old is she? Maybe she isn't ready for it yet.

i have heard of this happening. i am not 100% sure but i think when i googled it i read that there is something different about the milk when it is in the form of yogurt and cheese: this is what i read:

"Lactose is broken down with the culturing of the yogurt or cheese and milk proteins are either semi-removed or limited. The culturing makes yogurt and cheese easier to digest. Many people with lactose intolerance often are be able to eat cheese and/or yogurt without trouble. The same is often true for some people with a milk protein (either to the casein or the whey) allergy."

i don't know if that makes sense but hope it helps!

Edited to add that my DD is the same age and is on whole milk now and no problems so shouldn't be an age thing.

Personally, I'd wait and try in a month. DS weaned himself off formula when he was about 11.5 months and he did it within a week, it doesn't take that long to transition.

Did she take regular formula?Chat Icon
