Working out at home - Video suggestions & any success stories?
I am a mom of a 7 month old, I have a schedule that I am still trying to figure out and right now I don't have time to go to the gym. DD sleeps until 7am most days so I would like to start working out at home in the morning.
I am at my heaviest (not counting being pregnant) and I feel terrible. I need to lose fat and would love more energy.
I feel like doing it at home is setting myself up for failure, but right now it's my only option. I don't even know if this feeling is valid, maybe it's just from past experiences. If anyone has had any success at home, I would love to hear it.
I know it's about food too, I am working on that as well, but I need to get my rear end moving!

My advice is to start with something like a Jillian Michael's 20 minute workout or even Walk Away the Pounds.

I would try the Jillian Michaels 30-day shred. I personally think the work outs are great. Right now i am doing the Insanity videos which have also given me results. Those are pretty hardcore though. I work FT so i have been getting up around 5 to do the videos and it gives me so much energy for the day. Good luck!!

ITA. The 30-day shred is a pretty intense 20 minute work-out.
The Biggest Loser DVDs are good as well. I have the cardio & weight ones. Each DVD has 3 work-outs (1 is 20 minutes, the other 2 are 10).

Re: Working out at home - Video suggestions & any success stories?
As a mom of 2 toddlers, I do most of my working out at home, either by the treadmill or DVDs. I agree with the others, the 30 day shred is a great starting point. Once you advance, there are so many other great DVDs. Try collagevideo.com They have ratings and workout level info for most of the existing workout DVDs.
Jackie Warner puts out some great workouts, many are not too long so you can fit them in.

I love Hip Hop Abs (from beachbody) and Gilad workouts. Noticeable results!

I did Windsor Pilates for a while, and the DVDs were maybe 20 minutes. I did them 5-6 days a week, and i was in the best shape, and felt great! If you add that in with maybe taking the baby for a walk once or twice a week and you will love the results!

Re: Working out at home - Video suggestions & any success stories?
I just got Brenda DyGraf's Air Climber System and I love it...it came with 2 dvd's and has a bunch of different exercise choices on each DVD (all incorporating the air climber). I've only used it 3 days in a row so far but i definitely feel sore (its great for your legs and tush, but also works your core). I would recommend this if you are looking to purchase something more than just a DVD. Good luck!
