I’d be fine with France winning; I’d not be fine with Russia winning. I’d really like to see Croatia win. I do not want to see France win exactly. I’m rooting for England, which is such an oxymoron considering that I also root for Germany (they are out).
I’m going out tomorrow to watch the England game with a few friends tomorrow. It should be a good time. I’d like to see them win the Cup like they did in 1966, but I don’t think it’ll happen. Their team is strong, but not as strong as others. I really think it will be France vs. someone else in the final.
Now, I just need to find my England jersey/jacket.

Bye bye Russia and Sweden! Thank God. I really like the Croatian team. They played so well with the injured goalie at the end.
England’s game was also fun. I had a great time in the English Garden here and having a beer in the beer garden. Unfortunately, I started to feel sick from a pork dish. I stayed to the end, though. I found my English jacket this morning, so I was really happy about that. I had been looking for the past week for it. It was a great atmosphere with lots of singing.
That Russia- Croatia game was intense, especially when the goalie got injured. I thought for sure it was over for them after that.
So onto Tuesday and I think France is going to win against Belgium, but I haven’t really paid attention to Belgium this WC.
I’m not sure about the England-Croatia game. I hope it’s England, but they sometimes just try to score a goal and it’s so off target. Croatia seems like a stronger team. I think it might be Croatia.

I just organized a GTG with my colleagues for the England game, but I have such a problem at the beginning when they sing “God Save the Queen.” I just want to sing my country ‘tis of thee.
I’ve been delegated to get a table at the beer garden to watch the game. I have to get there an hour early and just guard a table. It sucks, but I’ll have a friend to help me.

I was explaining this to an English friend the other day, and she had no idea. Then we got on the topic of the Pledge of Allegiance and how we used to sing other songs at the beginning of every day. She was like, wow, that’s strange. She said in England they used to have to say the Lord’s Prayer (Our Father) when she was in school, but that stopped.

I watched. It wasn’t so dramatic, but still good. I am convinced they are going to win this whole thing.
England game tonight! I can’t wait to get drunk with my English/British colleagues, lol.

They played well, but I’m getting sick of these refs making and breaking these games! I feel that Belgium wouldn’t have beat Brasil without the refs, and I felt they lost against France bc of the refs, it’s BS, and becoming not fun to watch.
Sorry for my rant! Go England!! Hope they bring it home!

I have to agree with you about the refs. They suck this time! I feel like there is so many things they do not see. It’s annoying. But that kinda almost always happens in soccer.

That was such a tough loss to watch for England.. my DH called Croatia from the beginning but I still think the final now sucks, Croatia vs France, ugh. I was upset we had a party on Sunday so I was going to miss it anyways, now I don’t care who wins. Guess I’ll wait another 4 years

I have to agree with you about the refs. They suck this time! I feel like there is so many things they do not see. It’s annoying. But that kinda almost always happens in soccer.
That’s very true, it’s hard being a ref. I was asked to ref a girls high school game, and I said never again, I’ll stick to the little kiddos lol. It’s easy playing and reffing on the sidelines lol. But I do wish they worked for England today

I’m sad that England lost :(. Seeing all the Croatian fans on public transport broke my heart, but you congratulate them as you should do.
I have just come back from a party that I organized to watch the game (it’s a pain to organize a reservation here). But Kudos to Croatia. I still think France have it in the bag.

Croatia clearly the better team. PK fairly awarded but the first French goal was clearly a dive by Griezman and should have been yellow carded

Refs always suck. Do you watch MLS? Terrible! I think we all knew France would win, unfortunately. Croatia put in a good run and outplayed them a lot of the game but didn't finish their chances. Oh well...I'm ready for next year's Women's World Cup.

I don’t watch MLS. I kind of keep up with the Premier league in England, but I mostly keep up with the Bundesliga in Germany. I like Stuttgart, Eintracht, Bayern, and 1860. I mostly support Eintracht.
