Worlds Gym vs. Bally vs. NYS
How do they compare?
I have always been a member of NYSC but I'm thinking about switching to Bally OR Worlds Gym.
How do they compare as far as size, group class schedules, cleanliness, price, hours....etc.
NYSC is really the only gym I have ever gone to!
TIA!!

I am not sure but I belong to World Gym in Wantagh. It is very very clean and I think they have a good amount of classes etc.... Why dont you ask for a guest pass to each and try them both out and see which one you like best!

Re: Worlds Gym vs. Bally vs. NYS
I would check them all out. Also the sales people are so pushy but dont sign up for anything on your first day. Ask for a day pass or pay to go there for day.
I go to Bally's - I dont love it but it is the only gym in my area! So that being said...it is PACKED! The lockerooms are a bit nasty. I have gone to 2 Bally's in the city and werent impressed with them either.
But I have been to Bally's in AZ and UT and those were nice actually. Maybe LI has some nice ones too but NY and NJ...ehh not so much.

I go to World Gym in Queens. I like it & it fits my needs. I don't take classes but I've looked at the schedule & it looks pretty good. When I first joined a few years ago, the price was half that of NYSC.

Re: Worlds Gym vs. Bally vs. NYS
I'm a Bally's member. In order of quality (IMO) Westbury is kind of dingy and small, no pool or exercise room for classes or free weights. Bay Shore is not THAT bad but it's small, has limited parking, tiny little big weights area, and no track but it does have an exercise room and a pool. Levittown is okay - it's 2 floors, has a pool, nice size exercise room, a track and has good classes. The drawback of Levittown is that if there is a class going on, you can't use the free weights because they only have bigger weights downstairs in the big weight room. Copiague is much bigger than Levittown with 2 floors and all the stuff Levittown has. Lake Grove is good too - with 2 floors but is slightly smaller than Copiague. I like Bally's because obviously, there are so many locations where i need them. I also have the family discount so I only pay $27/month instead of the $50 or more that I think new members pay. It's worth the money for me. I've only ever belonged to one other small gym and the gym at work so I don't know how those other big gym chains are.
