Worried about TTC #2

DH wants to try for baby #2, but he is really starting to worry me because he keeps saying our next baby better be as cute and adorable as Marron is. I'm worried that he will keep comparing them, and I'm afraid that Marron will be his favorite and the next one(s) will never be able to live up to his expectations of them. He is just totally enamored by Marron and I'm afraid that he won't feel the same about the next -- especially if they don't do the same funny/cool/interesting things that she does. And even if they do, it will be old hat for him so he may not be as impressed.

I really want to have another baby, but it seems like DH wants to have another Marron! Don't get me wrong -- I love her to death, but I know that I am ready for another different person as well.

Does any of this make sense? Has anybody else had a similar experience?

When I was pregnant with Jaidyn both my DH and myself were like, "How will we love this baby as much as we love Damien?" We were both afraid we would love him more. As soon as we both held her it was the same as Damien instant love. I wouldn't worry about it

I think once he sees a new baby, he will love them just the same. I actually am scared I may favor my daughter over the new baby, and from what I've heard, its normal for people to feel that way!

I don't have two babies, so I can't help. I remember my friend who has 3 kids say that she felt the way you are saying you feel but she loves each of her children the same amount. she said sometimes you love them in different ways.

Being pg with #2, this conversation between DH and I occurs all the time. We find ourselves saying, I hope the next one is as cute, funny, makes us laugh...etc.. Then we stop ourselves.

I think it's a totally normal process, and while Gianna is our first, I know when #2 comes she/he will be just as loved. Even though it scares me sometimes that what if i don't love the new baby as much?

Right now though, honestly, we keep telling gianna that she's our first baby, and we will always love her, like she understands that she's getting a sibling in 5-6 months

i tell my dh this all the time. he has fallen inlove with annalisa and i sometimes wonder if his heart is big enough for another one. What makes me sure he will is that each child will have their own little personality and that who can resist a baby and their adorable little faces !!!
