Worried!! Troy started with a rash today and we're going away on Saturday!

History...
Sun 8/17 we took Troy to Stony Brook ER b/c he had a temp of 102.0, very cranky, and green boogies. They gave him amoxicillian and told to followup with our Ped.

The boogies slowed down and have now stopped. But he's been super drooley since going to ER, which I chalked up to (1) canine teeth looking swollen and (2) stuffed nose and breathing thru his mouth.

He's very much himself and has not had a fever since.

However today, I noticed on his wrists and belly a small rash. I am TERRIFIED it's coxsackie, but he's not fitting most of the signs/symptoms.

We leave on Saturday for a week and a half long trip.

Should I just keep an eye on it? Make an appt for Ped for Fri, just in case???

ETA: No new laundry soap, however MIL did give him a bath on Sun w/ a different soap than what we use, but she's used it on him one other time.

Colin had the same thing happen before a trip we took in April. He had a fever for a few days and then the fever broke and a rash broke out over his arms and legs. My ped said it was his body fight off an infection and that was what caused in the fever in the first place. Check with your ped but i wouldn't worry. The rash was gone in a day or two. We were told to keep him out of the sun on our vacation!

he may be allergic to the amox. This happened to my dd. she had had amox a few times before, but the doctor said a reaction can occur the first time they have a new med or the 100th time they have it. Just watch that it doesnt get worse. I would call your doc. if it is a reaction you will have to stop that med. im sure hes fine.

I would def. take him to the dr being that you are going away....it could be a reaction to the meds, coxsackie (when my son had it the first time, he had a fever, then had spots on his legs--rare, but they werent even in his mouth) or maybe even roseola. Hope he feels better soon!
