Worst cold I ever had. Home Remedies please!!!!!!
If you want skip reading please tell me any home remedies you us for major head congestion and drip coughs.
DD started with it, then I got it and now DH has it too. DH and I NEVER shared an illness before in the almost 13 years we've been together. I've caught a couple of DD's colds but never have all three of us been sick at the same time.
This is the worst head cold I've ever had. No fever, I wish there was so I could cook this thing out. So congested, a horrible drip cough. Last week DD (3) coughed so bad she vomited. I brought her to doctor after that. Ears clear, chest clear, they said just ride out the cold. They are seeing colds lasting 2-3 weeks this season. DD is on day 8 and just starting to show signs of improvement. I'm on day 3 and DH is on Day 2. 2-3 weeks?!?! I need a vacation.
Please tell me your home remedies or favorite way to care for a cold and cough.
Make it stop!!!!!

I always like tea with honey, and Vicks rub. A humidifier might help too. Unfortunately none of these are miracle cures though. Feel better!

I agree with the humidifier; I take Airborne to prevent colds, but perhaps if you would take it now, the cold might not last as long. Mary

Ok, well, I use Afrin severe congestion nose spray, and plain Robitussin; I advise that whatever meds you take, read the labels, to see what ingredients are in them, to be sure you're not double dosing!!!! I seriously advise the humidifier!!!! I'll be praying for you, hon!!!!  Mary

put the shower on hot..let it get all steamy for a few min..go sit in it..the steam might clear ur head out a bit

First you need to get some good sleep. I am not a fan of Nyquil, I find that Tylenol Nighttime Tea works best for me, I feel rested and don't have that "hung over" feeling. Also, plenty of fluids - tea and water - you need to be hydrated and flush out your system.
I also use Afrin Sea Salt a few times a day to keep rinsing out my nose and sinuses.
Using the VapoRub and a humidifier are also good ideas.

me and both girls have the SAME exact thing, except I have a small fever and everything hurts...
Advil cold and sinus works amazing for me !

I just got over this, I had it for over 3 weeks- I feel your pain. Humidifier, plenty of fluids and a Neti Pot is a must. If you dont already have one, get one. You can find one at any drug store. Feel better!
