Would love feedback on Hicksville's School District
A few houses that I'm browsing online are located within Hicksville SD #17. How are the schools from K-12th grade?
How is the town? Does the town have a pool/ beach?

Re: Would love feedback on Hicksville's School District
My mother worked in the district for a year as a temp dept chairperson until the could find a permanent one. She was impressed with the students. It is a very diverse area but she said the HS students were very respectful. She came from Northport schools which is a good district and thought Hickville was better as far as their students
I don't know about other programs though

Re: Would love feedback on Hicksville's School District
We just purchased our first home in Hicksville. I had friends that taught here and know many people who went here and both agree it's a great district. My kids are young (2yr and 10m) so I don't have first hand experience. There's plenty to do and you're centrally located to major roadways and tons of shopping

Re: Would love feedback on Hicksville's School District
I went to Hicksville High.. grew up in Hicksville my whole life.. The school was just fine when I went which was 14 years ago but I think it went a little down hill from there.. I don't think its necessarily bad but it's not great either.. It depends what you are looking for? Great sports programs .. good teachers..those are pluses:) I personally didnt want to look at houses in hicksville because I lived there my whole life and we really preferred Bethpage school district over Hicksville.
ETA.. they also do have town pools but no beaches :( its not really a "Village type town" if that makes any sense.. They do have the broadwall mall which is great and are close to major parkways and highways as well
