Would love some recs on rental halls/rooms in Smithtown/Commack/Npt area, please!
We need something to hold approx 90 ppl - looking to bring catering in, unless the hall has a deal with a caterer, etc.
Party will be a Sunday afternoon, late Sept.
Must be clean, updated, etc.
We started a list of places to check out:
-american legion in KP (max capacity is 80)
-VFW in KP (haven't been there in years, hoping it's a little nicer than it used to be because it would be VERY convenient!)
-pavilion @ sunken meadow
-some hall across from the Smithtown Library (anyone know the name of it?)
-another place on Lake Ave in St James (again, anyone know the name of it?)
Open to any and all suggestions. Hoping to keep price of food and hall combined to $20pp max.

We are using the Smithtown Elks lodge. It is on Edgewood Ave (in case you didn't know). It definitely fit your criteria. Check them out!

The VFW in KP is still "eh" (Im from KP in case you were wondering). We just went to another KP friend christening at the American Legion, down from Main St Pizza by KP Dance, it was nice but nothing spectacular. What youd expect. There is an Elks lodge on Pulaski in Greenlawn, that we had my friends baby shower at and it was redone by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, lol.
My BIL owns Ciros (old Anna Marias). They do parties Sunday afternoons, and fairly inexpensively. Dont know if itll hold 90 people though. If you call, ask for Matt and tell him Melissa sent you.

Funny, my Mom is helping plan a family get together and is looking for the same thing. She asked me about the VFW on Lake Avenue in St. James - is that the one you mean? If so, the building is not that big and I'm not sure they could hold 90 people. She didn't check them out yet, but it's semi-small. The Elks Lodge on Edgewood appears much bigger.
I'd love to know what you find out about the Elks Lodge.

The Elks Lodge requires that you use their caterer. With food, soda, everything, it's approx $28pp. Def more than we can spend. I'm not even going to go take a look.

Thank you very much! I hear ya. When my Mom said she didn't want to go over $30pp I scoffed at first, remembering our wedding. But then I thought, it's not that kind of affair so it shouldn't be as expensive.
And then again on the other hand, our numbers are almost the same, so you still need the same amount of staff. I honestly don't think there are many nice, affordable places left for that many people.

Thank you - got your info! I remember looking into them last year when we started to plan mom/dad's surprise party - I forgot that they make you use their caterer. Price is too high for us right now. Thank you anyway!!!

It's a little further away, but Meehan's in Huntington has a room that holds up to 140 people and a lot of different catering packages/price points. We had our rehearsal dinner there and were very happy with them. Good luck!

my parents just ate there the other day and told me the same thing - I know they were approx $26/pp plus tax/gratuity.

i can't believe it - Smithtown Landing is booked, Old Street is booked, the Masonic Lodge in Smithtown doesn't do sundays before 5. omg

the K of C in ENpt is very nice, (corner of Larkfield and Pulaski in Pat's parking lot). As I remember it a bit higher then other places to rent, but it is newer and you can bring in your own food/caterer. I believe they have a website.

Nocello's is great!
I know not a lot of people are "diner people", but, we have had quite a few parties at Paradise Diner in Hauppague (on the "bend" of 347 and Vets Hwy).
Reasonably priced and they give you the whole back room.
