Would love to hear some VBAC Success stories
I've heard some scary stories recently about VBACS gone wrong. . .I was planning on giving it a try- but I'm starting to get nervous now that I'm less than 8 weeks away.
Please share some positive experiences with me- especially 2 under 2 moms!
Thanks!

Re: Would love to hear some VBAC Success stories
Go with a midwife over an OB. The Stonybrook midwives are amazing and are affliliated with an OB group if (god forbid) something goes wrong.
I attempted a VBAC 19 months after my first cs. It ended in a c/s, but not because it was a VBAC, DS was in distress.
Good luck!

I agree with the PP about a midwife over an OB. I know several women who have had successful VBACs with Dale Cook, who has an office in Huntington Village. She's incredible!
Good luck!!

Re: Would love to hear some VBAC Success stories
I will be trying for a VBAC as well. I go to a big practice and all the doctors so far have said that they are on board with it and have assured me I will be monitored at all times and they've had many successes with it. It all depends on your previous delivery and reason for CS at that time. I try not to listen to other horror stories and trust what my Dr will advise. They know me and what they think will be safe. I'm only praying that I don't go late again because they did say the only thing is that I can not be induced again so if I am really late then it will be another CS.

Re: Would love to hear some VBAC Success stories
I had a successful VBAC in July.
I was due July 15th
I lost my mucus plug on July 11th around 7am. Started having contractions at around 10am. When I got to Winthrop I was 4 cm with contractions coming every 3-4 minutes. I was laboring for 13 hours and was 7cm when I decided to get the epidural (I was afraid that epi was going to stop my contractions so I was holding off, but the doctor assured me it was not going to happen because baby descended, I was fully effaced) ...sure enough he was right. I got the epi at midnight, took a 3 hour nap and when I woke up I was fully dilated. They called the anesthesiologist to reduce the meds so I can feel pressure to push. After 12 pushes at 3:38am... my baby girl was out

Re: Would love to hear some VBAC Success stories
No personal experience but I do have a friend who had 2 successful VBACs. In fact, her 3rd delivery was a homebirth. No issues whatsoever.
Good luck!
