VBAC success stories?
Ladies - if you had a successful VBAC - when did you go into labor? How big was the baby measuring before you went into labor? How big was the baby at the time of delivery?
I had a growth sonogram today, I am 36 weeks, and the baby is measuring approx 7 - 7 1/2 pds - doctor said we will note it as 7pds and continue to monitor growth closely. I had my first internal as well and nothing is going on. He would like me to go early to avoid having to attempt VBAC with a big baby so he said to stay active, walk and watch my sweets.
I want to stay optimistic so would love to hear/read some success stories.....
Thanks ladies

Re: VBAC success stories?
Check out my birth story!
Baby was measuring 6 lbs 6 oz at 36 weeks. I went into labor at 41+ weeks and she was born at 7 lbs 12 oz.
Honestly, with one of the OBs in the practice I had to flat out tell him no, I will not schedule a c-section for 40 weeks because that date was just an estimate. The other OBs were very supportive and I went into labor on my own with no problem.

Re: VBAC success stories?
I don't have a success story because I never went into labor on my own and there were some problems at the very end, but I would never go by the estimates of weight from sonograms. They can be way off. Plus, our bodies are fully capable of giving birth to larger babies. My friend vaginally delivered a 9lb baby and she is a very tiny person!

Re: VBAC success stories?
I went into labor during my 38th week. Baby was measuring just over 7 lbs and she was born at 7 lbs 11 oz. I think my vbac story link is in my profile, but it's already been 5 years!

So your growth sono was pretty accurate....
I been reading a lot here that they can be way off - with DS my doctors were very close to the actual weight - DS was born 8lbs 12oz at 41 weeks.
This baby is close to 7 1/2 as of today 37w4d
Is there different ways to calculate growth - my girlfriend told me they measured her belly to determine baby's weight...
My doctor is doing a sonogram and measuring the baby's head, belly and leg....does that make a difference?
