Would you be the slightest bit upset?
My mom just called me to tell me that my brother has decided to join us for Christmas dinner. I am happy to have him but it sent me into panic mode....how do i fit him at the table, now i need to make more food (I was worrying about not having enough before this announcement...). My mom FLIPPED out on me because i wasn't crying with joy at this revelation. I sounded frustrated and she told me that she was taking Christmas away from me because i obviously can't handle it! Ummmmm...I have an 8 month old who is teething BIG time, a dh with a horrible cold and i got a flat tire this morning...forgive me for being a little frustrated....
Ever have someone in your life who loves kicking you when your down?

you should just tell her that the numerous extenuating circumastances leave you a tad overwhelmed.... and then ask if she could kindly fill-in for sick DH
no need to 'take christmas away'... after all, a flat tire and sick/teething family could happen to anyone, and can't be prevented.
