Would you combine a baptism/3rd birthday party?
I was hoping to have DD's baptism in April.
The church only performs them on the 3rd Saturday of each month, which happens to be 3 days before DS' 3rd birthday.
Would you combine the 2 parties into 1 since we are only having close family anyway or do them each a weekend apart?
I would feel bad making people come 2 weekends in a row, but at the same time, I feel bad taking away from DD's baptism or taking away from DS' birthday.
FTR, neither of these would have been fancy.

Could you maybe do the baptism with family and then a kiddie party for the 3rd bday?

I don't see the issue with having a small cake and singing Happy Birthday to your DS. I also don't think it's going to take away from the christening (it's not like DD will realize ); for goodness' sake, my friend took time out of his wedding to have a b-day cake for my sister and we all sang too! Then again, I haven't made a big deal out of my DDs 3rd b-day parties...

Yes I would combine them, especially if it is the same people you would be inviting.

I personally wouldn't. Also if this is a Catholic church you want to make sure that they will be doing baptism in April. The 3rd Sunday is Palm Sunday. I had an issue with the 4th Sunday being Easter.

Good point. I didn't even think of that.
I will call and find out.
Thank you.
