Re: Would you ever borrow money

I would borrow money from my parents or my sister, NEVER from a friend. My family is very open about money, so most likely, if I needed the money, someone would have already offered to lend it to me, I wouldn't have to ask.

Re: Would you ever borrow money

I don't think I'd ever borrow anymore than $20 from a friend- and that would ONLY happen if we were out and I didn't have enough cash. But, I'd pay it back IMMEDIATELY.

In the past, had to borrow a few thousand from my grandma to pay for college. I think I paid it all back except for the last few hundred. She "forgave" the last few hundred. But, I'm not the only one who borrowed from Grandma. One of my older cousin's also borrowed from her when he bought a car (but she made him pay back every last penny Chat Icon )

Re: Would you ever borrow money

I'd borrow from my parents. My brothers are still in college so I don't see myself borrowing money from them anytime soon. I'd never borrow from my friends.

I have borrowed money from my parents in the past - and we have a payment plan set up, with interest, so that it will never be an issue.

with interest? you parent charge you interest?

then why not just get a loan from a bank?

It was money from a loan they took out - so we pay the interest for that loan.
At the time we needed the money, it wasn't really the best time to take out a loan from the bank, so they helped us out because they knew we would be respobnsible enough to pay it back and stick with they payment plan.

Iwould if I had too. We have borrowed a lot from my mom. We would borrow and we would also lend..mostof our friends and family know if we have it , its theres, and we have lent out at most about $4000 at a time, always got it back as promised, so we if we ever needed it would have no problem asking...we are very open moneywise with most of our friends/family.

same here. i just dont like the idea of ever owing people anything. Even if i've ever borrowed ANYTHING from a friend (like an object)- i always try to give it back even better than when i got it.

as far as family- im in a better situation than most on my side, so i would never even ask them. Though my great-aunt lent me money for my summer courses in college, i always paid her back in full at the end of the summer. so i guess in that sense, when it was absolutely necessary... even then, i would only do it knowing that i could pay it back within a short time period.

I would borrow money from parents or siblings, never from friends! I would only borrow that money if I could pay it back in a timely manor.

We borrowed $8,000 from my MIL for the wedding. She got paid back as soon as we got back from our honeymoon with what we got as gifts from the wedding.
