Would you fly at 31 weeks
A short (2.5-3 hour) domestic flight? So far I've had a rather uneventful pregnancy. I had seen a specialist regarding a possible blood clotting disorder, but he along with another rheumatologist said it is so insignificant and probably non existent. Back then we were planning on going to Anguilla for our Babymoon, but I panicked and decided I didn't want to fly. Now I have vacation time next week from Wed through Friday and DH and I were planning on just driving somewhere warmer for a few days, but it seems that we'd have to drive at least 8-10 hours to get anywhere worth going. Now I'm wondering if I should just stop being so over-anxious and just fly to Florida for a few days and get some R&R.
I'm going to ask my OB his opinion, but sometimes I find his answers to be so vague. What would you girls do? Am I being selfish by taking the chance of flying? You can be totally honest with me.

Re: Would you fly at 31 weeks
I'm struggling with the same thing. My bil is getting married at 32.5w and I'm wondering whether to fly (short domestic flight) or not go. My Ob said ok to fly up to 34w and to see how I feel. I'm still undecided. I'm flying internationally at 24-25w and they all told me that was fine... I'm 22w now...

Re: Would you fly at 31 weeks
I am going to North Carolina at 34 weeks. I am splitting up the drive into 3 days. On the way home, I am flying home, when I will be 35 weeks. Dr. said it will be fine, so we'll see! I would do it.

Re: Would you fly at 31 weeks
Thanks for all of your thoughts girls. I probably should have checked with DH before even pursuing it . Turns out, he is not comfortable with it and he is usually a pretty laid back guy. Guess that makes my mind up for me.

Re: Would you fly at 31 weeks
I would check with your dr. but I think the reason they say not to in your 3rd trimester is because altitude affects the water in your body and you could go into early labor.

Re: Would you fly at 31 weeks
I am flying at 28w6d and coming back at 29w6d. The Dr said anything before 35-36 weeks is fine. But I'm also going home and I have a plan in case anything goes wrong...
Enjoy

Re: Would you fly at 31 weeks
I would normally but knowing you are being monitored for a clotting disorder, I would not do it without the go ahead from the doctor.
