Would you go to a wedding in Sept?
Numbers are high there. Vaccinations are required or negative tests and masks are mandated. Its in Sept.

Would you go to a wedding in New Orleans
End of Sep? I think their indoor activities with proof of vaccinations started yesterday, so hopefully that helps.
If vaccinated and you really wanted to go, I would do so.

I would not. My current comfort level is very low especially at crowded indoor places, where people are not wearing masks because my son is not yet vaccinated. I’ve recently been in a situation like this twice and I was uncomfortable the entire time. One of these events was my sister’s wedding. 10 days post wedding my sister, who is an RN, said she prayed every day that her wedding wouldn’t be a super spreader event. So, she was obviously nervous as well.
If you have been in situations like this and felt comfortable, you might be able to relax.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in New Orleans
If you are ok wearing masks the whole time (this would bother me but I would still do it). I see no reason not to go. It’s probably one of the safest places you can go if vaccines or negative tests are required to even get into the wedding.

As long as your employer doesn’t require testing, I’d go. But their mayor or someone was on tv saying that many places require everyone to be vaccinated pr negative test, not sure if that will affect you.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in New Orleans
Probably not but mainly because even though the wedding sounds relatively safe if I were going all the way to NOLA I would also want to do other things that might not be safe. So I wouldn't want to "waste" a trip there right now.
I also have an unvaccinated child at home which would influence the decision but that might not apply to you.
It would also depend on the relationship. If it were my BFF's wedding I'd probably suck it up. If it were a friend I wasn't super close with or a cousin I see twice a year that would be a nope.

I would only if they are close. I am not fond of spending long periods of time in a mask.

If it is someone close to me, I would with a mask, although I hate masks.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in New Orleans
It would depend on how close to the couple I was. We have a wedding in Florida in November that we plan on going to because we are very close to the family. The shower is Labor Day weekend on LI and I will also go to that. For a more casual friend or family member, I’d probably skip it.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in New Orleans
Masks are mandated at the wedding reception? If this is a deciding factor for you, I'd consider whether or not this requirement will be enforced. I can see masks coming off once people are inside. Also, everyone will obviously be unmasked while eating/drinking.
ETA: I imagine I would personally go to the wedding--just saying this is a point to consider if it's a deciding factor for you.

Yes but vaccines and/or negative tests are being required too so if people are unmasked while eating I would imagine the risk is still low.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in Sept?
i know the weather is/can be very different in socal and the great nyc area, but....
i have a sweet 16 and a wedding in mid september.
i'm definitely going to the sweet 16, i'm about 80% confident about the wedding. both events will be held indoor/outdoor and they're both small-ish events.

Nope. I wouldn’t travel for a wedding right now. But if it was local, I’d be more inclined to attend.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in Sept?
So we held our kids b’nai mitzvah in May. Every adult was vaccinated including all staff. Most of the kids had one dose. We had ten kids who did not have a vaccine because they were not old enough. Everyone wore masks. We only had 70 people. Yes, we held our breath for the two weeks after. Thankfully none of our guests got covid. The room could hold 1000 people so we had a lot of space filled with flowers.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in Sept?
If it was someone close to me, I’d go. I’d keep distanced when I had my mask off. I would then be cautious for 10 days to be sure I’m not carrying or spreading anyway. Masks indoors w anyone other then my DH, etc.
We did this w my nephew engagement party end of July. We stayed away from extended family w out masks for about 10 days to be safe.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in Sept?
We went to a wedding the weekend the mask mandate was lifted. Outdoor ceremony and indoor cocktail and reception. No masks required, no distancing. It was absolutely wonderful and it didn't seem like anyone was worried, from small kids to older grandparents. No one got sick.
If I had to travel, it would all depend on the relationship if you have to test and mask.

Re: Would you go to a wedding in Sept?
Yes - we have a wedding in Jackson Hole Labor Day weekend and we are going. We have had covid and are vaccinated. I believe they are hiring a lab to come and do onsite PCR Rapid testing but I would be fine even without that. I actually don't think that the fear of covid will stop me from doing anything going forward. I had very little fear to begin with and now it's not even a thought that crosses my mind.

Are there an abnormal amount of flight cancellations? I've taken a lot of trips this year (6 to be exact) and also had to fly for a funeral and only one flight was changed and it was far away from the trip that I was able to rebook for a more convenient flight.
Also, there aren't any restrictions for domestic travel right now are there?

Maybe the Spirit flights that were recently cancelled? I know Frontier is known for cancelled and delayed flights too.

There's no domestic travel restrictions. Maybe the airlines are "understaffed" like everyone else.
