Cold Grilled Chicken?

Here's the deal: For DD's 1st birthday we are doing all cold dishes, mostly salads and heroes. I wanted to add a tray of cold grilled chicken. Lots of people order cold grilled chicken on salads at restaurants, at least I thought. DH feels like people won't want to eat cold chicken. But I feel like they might want a piece alone or they might want to add it into the mixed green salad or pasta salad we are serving. I don't want to serve it if it will all go to waste.

I would eat it but I think it might be better if it was sliced ahead of time, so that people can pick up a few slices to eat alone or so that it is easier to mix in to the salads. I think it makes a lot of sense to put it on the side, so that the dishes still are vegetarian for those who want that. It wouldn't be cold, anyway, it would be more like room temp. I would set it out with the salads so that it is clearer what you are thinking.

I agree with this. If I saw it next to the salads and it was sliced, I would add it in.

I was going to put it next to the salad, but if I am grilling tenderloins, (not breasts), do you still think it needs to be sliced??

I agree. I'd love it. If you make a pasta salad, could be added to that too, or on sandwiches with some fresh moss/grilled veggies.

If it is big enough that people might want to cut it with a knife to eat it, then I would slice it.

Re: Would you/others eat this?

Yes, I would eat it cold but I'm wit the others & would prefer it already sliced into bite sized pieces.

Would you/others eat this?

I would. I eat cold chicken all the time in my salad. I would slice it into strips.

I don't mind cold chicken as part of a dish but I wouldn't really be inclined to grab a plain piece of cold chicken by itself. I think most people would probably bypass it for other stuff.

Yes, agree that it's a great idea s long as it is sliced up and put near the salads, etc.

Re: Would you/others eat this?

I think it's a good choice.

And if it doesn't get eaten, there are so many things you can make with it during the week ;).

I think more people these days are looking for healthier options other than the typical carb heavy items that are served at most events, so go for it!
