Let me share my story!
My grandmother used to read me this children's book. It was some old book that I loved, and all I remembered about it was a girl in France who lived with her 2 uncles who were police officersd and called her their "little cabbage".
After my grandma died, I thought about this book all the time. She always read it to me. I knew I would never find the book on amazon. I couldn't remember the name, and knew it was probably out of print. I knew she would never even have it with her stuff after 30 years.
Every year, I go to Shelter Island for Thanksgiving - my birthday always falls around Thanksgiving weekend.
Well, on my BIRTHDAY - I opened up a bureau where we keep toys for the kids to get something for Cailen - and there is the book. On the top of the pile.
I SWEAR - it was never there before.
I totally believe my grandma gave me my birthday gift that day!

Jeannie, she is saying something to you. Please allow me to share an experience I had.
December 2005 - wedding invites to our black tie wedding just went out. RSVPs going to Mom's house. Mom had gone on vacation out of state and I decided that I would go to her house daily to get response cards. When I was there, the phone rings. It was the dry cleaners. They said they had a tuxedo there since April of 2004 - the last time my father had worn it. Dad passed in July of 2005 just 3 months after DH and I got engaged. Is it coincidence that I HAPPENED to be in my moms house and that the dry cleaners just HAPPENED to call saying they would donate it if someone didn't come get it OR was it my father getting his best outfit together and letting us know he would be there for the wedding? I chose to believe that Dad was suiting up for the occasion.

id say it was your mom
my grandma found a letter 25 years to the day my grandpa wrote it. he wrote it when he retired and talked a lot about how much he enjoyed thier life together and stuff. she found it in a draw that she said she had been in so many times before and never saw the letter until that day.
