Would you send your 6 week old to your MILs if she had a sore throat?

She called this morning with a sore throat and isn't sure if it is allergies or something else.

Although I am disappointed (I really wanted to go shopping today) I think the babies should just stay home.

What do you think? What do you do when you are sick?

At 6 weeks I would probably keep them home, especially since its the start of cold and flu season. Actually even now that they're a year I would do my best to keep them away from anyone who even thought they were getting sick, due to the time of year it is. Chat Icon

Me too....it's not worth risking the baby getting sick IMO.

Definitely keep them home.

Remember BOTH will get it.

We have both sick right now, DD is about a day or two behind DS. It's hectic around here right now.

I would keep him home. This summer MIL babysat DS after she had been to the doctor for a sore throat and was antibiotics. Shortly afterwards he came down with coxsakie. Since a sore throat is a symptom of the virus in adults and none of his playmates had the virus I think he got it from her.

I would keep them home. ESPECIALLY with 2. It's hard enough when one is sick, to have both & then catch it is the worst.Chat Icon
