Wound up in the hospital again last night..

So...just when I thought things were getting better, I wound up in the emergency room last night. And I still dont even know why, which makes it worse!

Last night, I started getting really bad pains in my back. I couldnt breathe and every time I thought it was going away, it came back again. I tried everything, heat, cold, resting..the only thing that helped was hot showers. By 1 in the morning, my dh called my doctor and she said to go to the hospital. So now I am crying hysterically, my mom is with me (of course, what would I do without her! LOL) and shes thinking it may be gallbladder. So now all I can think about is that I just had this c section, I have a 2 week old and I am not going to be able to care for her.

Anyway, we go to the hospital. Gross! The er was disgusting! Its the same hospital I gave birth in but the maternity ward was BEAUTIFUL..not the er thats for sure! They throw me in a bed and a nurse comes over with like 10 vials to take blood. No one explains why this is being done, so I say I want to talk to a doctor first before you take all that blood. I wait and wait. People are SO SICK all over the place with just a curtain separating us and I have an infant at home. The pain subsided, whatever it was, and I decided to leave. I havent had the pain since but it was SO AWFUL! I am hoping it was just gas, as I hear gas after surgeries can be awful but I dont know. I am going to my doctor tomorrow.

Please say a prayer its nothing...I cant go through another thing right now..all I wanna do is take care of my baby!

You poor thing! How awful to be in pain and not know what's wrong. By any chance, is the pain in the same spot where your epi was? I hear from alot of women that they have this symptom sometimes for a year after they deliver. It obvisouly gets less and less but can be pretty intense right afterwards.

I had gallbladder problems all thru my 1st pregnancy - That was pain like nothing I've ever felt before.

I hope its just gas, thought they do say that pregnancy triggers gall bladder problems. Two friends of mine have had it.
They both described it as worse pain than labor!

Did it kind of feel like a contraction in any way? I had the worst pain this past Sunday and it was my uterus. The pain was very strong and lasted over an hour. Is that possibly what you may have felt?

I hope it doesnt' come back!

The pain was more in my back near my shoulder blade. Wow...you had bad pain like a contraction after the fact??? UGH! This having a baby thing is NO JOKE HUH?? LOL

I had a pancrtitas attack when DD was 4 years old.. it flet like I was having a heart attack.. I went to the hospital and all they did was check my heart.. if they actually took blood they would have seen my liver levels through the roof...

It turned out to be my gallbladder and I had to get it removed..

I hate to tell youthis but the same thing happend to me and I thought it was just cramps and from my body going back into shape and also from me wearing heels again but I wound up in the hospital and the same thing happend to me that by the time they got to me the pain was over and done with. I wound up going ot my regualr doctor and he gave me an x-ray and it showed that I had gallstones so he sent me for a catscan and low and behold thats what it was.

I would double check with your regualr doctor

That happened to me a few months after Patrick was born. Turns out I have acid reflux. It can be the worst thing possible.
Take a pepcid if it happens again. see if it helps.

I had my gallbladder removed and your pain sounds a lot like what it felt like. Go see your regular Dr asap. they can check for gallstones by a sono.

I hope it's just gas. I can tell you that gas can be very painful. I have been hutched over in pain crying fo numerous times. The worst had to be when I was PG because I could not lay on my stomach at the time I devolped the attack. Try lying on your left side and have your DH massage you. You need to get the gas moving around. Also try walking and drinkning lot of water. Hope its nothing more serious than that. Unfortunatley if it is gas the hosiptal doesnt really do anything becuase my mom had went a few times and the didnt do anything.

ETA: It could also be constipation. I had that aswell and had to perform an enema because it was so bad.

I'm so sorry! Just wanted to write that ER's are THE WORST! My brother is a resident and he says that the ERs in most hospitals are awful - its better to go to your doctor and have him admit you. That said - go to your doctor and get checked out even though you are feeling better...I'm not a mommy yet but, its better to be sure

it does sound a lot like gall stones which is very common after pregnancy. Stay away from fatty foods, I had an awful attack that landed me in the hospital after eating peanut butter.


And yes it was worse than the pain of labor (and I had no epidural).
