wow, this new mom stuff is tough!
I knew it would be but it really is an ubelievably life changing event! i am so tired now that DH is back at work and its just me and DD. I feel like all I do is feed her and change her diapers. I wouldn't change a thing but it is exhausting! I can't wait to be able to go out on my own for just a little bit or even to be able to take her out .I know i should be napping but it's too hard because i'm always worrying about her since it's just the two of us at home now . just venting ladies...thanks

It is very hard in the beginning, they eat all the time and it takes forever. You will have more freedom soon. Keep up the good work, and try to get out and do something just for you. Even if it is just a quick walk outside.

DS will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and even though I would not have it any other way, I am EXHAUSTED!! If you ever need to vent, feel free to FM. I am in the exact same place. Congrats on your little girl!

it'll get better, I promise, just give it some time. I am pretty sure all new moms feel that way(well not my former boss who had a full time nanny day and night ) you will feel better soon and both of you will adjust to a new life soon.

I know exactly how you feel! DS is a month old, and I was so proud of myself for being able to get a shower in today and take a short walk.
It really is exhausting. Every time I think I've got him on somewhat of a schedule, he throws me for a loop!
Everyone says it gets better. I'm crossing my fingers!

I didn't think so when I was in your position, I wanted to leave DS on someone's doorstep many times, but now he is a dream, I can't believe I went through 4 months of colic, reflux and all that.....

You're doing great!!!!! It is tough, but it gets easier......I started by going for short walks with the stroller or to BRU....even now I still feel better when I get out during the day! I know its hard to nap, I would try to nap a little in the AM, that way I felt a bit more rested!

It is hard until they are a few months old and they start "peopling" out a bit and you get more used to the routine... One day, you realize you are doing it wihtout even thinking about it!

It gets better, I swear!!
The first few weeks -- what helped me a lot - DH would get home from work with take-out and after dinner, he'd tell me to go out - to Starbucks, Ralphs, walk the dog whatever - I loved that he "got" that I just needed to get out alone.
Try it!

thanks ladies. I know it will get better. it is just so amazing how much and how quickly your life changes! i love my little girl so much and can't wait to watch her grow up!

It definitley gets better. I had a winter baby and had "bad cabin fever".
The first few months were tough!
I felt EXACTLY how you felt. You'd hear "Nap when the baby naps"..Never worked for me, even though he was right in the den in the PNP with me.
DS is 16 months now and I promise, It gets easier and better.

NO ONE and i mean NO ONE could have prepared me for those first few weeks/months.
i really thought i knew what i was in for...was i wrong!
it was so hard. i cried and cried and so did DD-every day for hours straight. i felt like all i did was BF, change diapers, and then do house work. she did not smile, coo, or do anything i expected her to do! LOL
i thought it would be that way forever...but the great news is that is really does get so much better!! i never believed people when they told me this though. now, at 11 months DD is a whole different baby and i am a different person myself. hang in there! you won't believe how much better it really is going to get!

It gets better. Try to take her out for walks. It's the best thing you can do for yourself, besides nap.
