Writing washing away on Playtex bottles, GRRR
So, this is a vent and also a help needed post. We've been washing our playtex ventaire bottles by hand, so far so good except one big thing. The writing (ie the measurement lines) are wearing off. GRRR. How can I fix this? DO you think I'm scrubbing the bottles too hard? Should I not be using hot water? Help, thanks!

sounds like the constant scrubbing is just wearing away the ink.. what kind of sponge are you using?

I'm not using a sponge. I'm just using a rubber bottle brush.

I'm not using a sponge. I'm just using a rubber bottle brush. could the soap your using be to harsh, maybe have an abrasive in it? I just toss my bottles in the dishwasher, plus their not playtex ones, not really sure if thats the reason havent experienced.

that is REALLY weird! Some bottles that I have are over 2 years old - I can't imagine yours lasting only 2 weeks!!! Something is not right with the bottle!

I know, right. I swear I'm using a normal dish washing liquid with a bottle brush. The writing shouldn't rub off yet.
Do you think its ok to use a sharpie on them? I'd write ontop of the already disappearing line. Its on the outside anyway? I may do that to save the bottles. What do you think?

No, I think you should contact the company and get new ones. I called Playtex to complain once and they sent replacements. Something isn't right.

Kerry, I would take them all back to BRU and get new ones. They were on your registry, so they shouldn't give you a problem. That's ridiculous, they should not be wearing out at all, much less after 2 weeks

I agree with Katie. We had these bottles, got them 2 years ago before DS was born and nothing ever washed away on them

Thanks, I never thought of contacting Playtex directly. I'll call them Monday. Do you think it will be an issue being I so don't have the recipts? Will I have to send the bottles to them?

I know this post is old but this is happening to me too. When you contacted the company what did they do for you? They said they would give me 3 coupons and I had to send the bottles back.

Mine just started doing this too. They're 4 months old. My Waldbaums in Melville had them on clearance for 75% off. I guess they are d/c them maybe because of this problem!

Re: Writing washing away on Playtex bottles, GRRR
I sent the bottles back and got some coupons. I now use Evenflo good old fashion bottles, but the coupons can be used for other feeding items as well (like pacis, spoons, bowls, sippys, etc)
I'm saving mine for sippy cups & plates!!
