Wrong Sex??
I'm going to ask this on the parenting board as well, but was anyone's sonogram tech wrong in telling them the sex?
I found out at 25 weeks that is a girl and the tech said there were 3 slits, in the pelvis area which is why she is sure its a girl.
However, my family keeps making me nervous saying it could be a boy...you never know.

Re: Wrong Sex??
Ive been very nervous about this myself, YES it is possible, it does happen that the sex can be wrong and although it doesnt happen that often its usually when they tell u its a girl that it could be a boy... when they see a penis, they are almost always right...
Again, not very common though,,

Re: Wrong Sex??
From what I know, once they see the 3 lines they are positive its a girl. A boy would be noticable if they coudl see that area at 25 weeks...
Do not worry!

Re: Wrong Sex??
I'm not worried per se (I want healthy....I could care less about sex), but it has crossed my mind. I know 3 people who were told they were having girls and ended up delivering boys. (the most recent one being 5 months ago.)
The only way to be 100% positive of the sex is with an amnio.

Re: Wrong Sex??
well they definitely got a good look down there. "She" was cooperating. I mean 25 weeks is far enough along where a penis would be visable.
I think its because my family didn't want to know the sex so they are going to drive me crazy saying it could be a boy!!!

Re: Wrong Sex??
I got a scare from a woman today. I told her I was having twin boys and asked if I had an amnio?? I said no, why? She told me that her friend had twins and they thought they both were boys and turned out 1 was a girl. they said that the genitals had been swollen and they thought it was a boy?? Anyone hear of this

I have 2 co-workers who have been told the wrong sex. It can happen but they are usually right.

Re: Wrong Sex??
I have heard of these errors on a few occassions, but typically you can see the gender at future sonograms to verify.
