WW 5k Challenge!
I just signed up the WW 5k Challenge in Oakdale. It will be my first 5k since my injury! I do plan on running on it too
I know there was a thread awhile ago when they first announced it, but I was wondering who defintely signed for it.
I don't have any friends on WW or anyone who would be doing it with me so I'll be there alone. That being said, I would love to at least have a chance to say hi to some LIF'ers!

Are you doing the one in Oakdale?
I'm assuming that's the only one on LI?
I didn't sign up for it, but, was thinking about it.
I don't think I'd be able to run the whole thing, but, it would be my first 5K.
LOL
Wonder if I still have time to "think" about it?

I'm doing the in Oakdale. Some leaders have their own 5k. For example, my leader is actually doing one in Jones Beach that day. But the Oakdale one is the "official one" (costs $, you get a tshirt, bib, etc.).
You should do it!!! I'm excited!

u don't have to run it. when we did it last year, we walked it. plenty of people walk it. we're doing one in staten island that the centers are sponsoring. oakdale is a little too far for us.

Its actually not a run. It is the WW 5k Walk-It Challenge.
Some of us are planning to run it because we are runners.

Thanks Jess!! It was good seeing you! Great job 
Not one of my best times by far but I loved running it! I started way too strong and my knee started giving out a bit around the lake. I fell back after that.
I ran next to this kid who was so awesome. We kept encouraging each other and it was so nice! We got to talk a little bit too.

I did an unofficial one in Middle Village, Queens. I did a combo of running/walking as I was pushing my son in the stroller. It was great and so nice to see everyone cheering each other on. I did more than 5K. We did three times around the park, which is 1 1/4 miles around. I did each 1 1/4 mile in 17 minutes. Not bad considering it was yucky out.
