WW Lifetime members or those trying to maintain their weight!

I lost 1.2 yesterday. I'm just over 2lbs away from the minimum for my weight. So I can't lose anymore (especially more than 2lbs!)

I struggle so much with maintenance. For me, losing weight is so much easier. I'm trying to pinpoint my problems.

First problem I have: I eat more than I usually do on the weekends. It's normal, it's always happened since I have done WW. Then when I make up for it during the week, I think I overcompensate. I'm afraid to use all my 35 daily points because I still have to lose my weekend weight. In the end I just end up losing the weekend weight and then some.

Another problem is fear. I'm just afraid of getting big again. I'm so worried about gaining the weight back!!

I track everything I eat (for the most part). I follow the good health guidelines. I excercise 5 days a week.

Any advice or anyone in the same boat?

Re: WW Lifetime members or those trying to maintain their weight!

Im not on WW but i also have struggled with maintenance and the fear of getting big again. I find it so much easier to lose weight than it is to stay the seem. I find that if my weight increases a little bit while maintaining, I panic and think I am going to gain it all back and then like you said, overcompensate. It's definitely a mental issue I am working on.

I would really try to dip into those extra points so that you start levelling off and not losing anymore. You are very active too so are you using your activity points? What if you had your weekend cheats and maybe one midweek cheat to kind of keep your caloric intake up? Or maybe try adding some more calorie dense foods into your daily diet?

Sadly, I feel like its like ripping a band aid off and saying "I know my weight is up from the weekend but I don't want it to go down too much so I am going to use my extras.." I am sure it will take some getting used to, but I am sure you can do it!

Have you considered talking to a personal trainer that works with nutrition as well? For as much as you work out I am sure you need to eat close to 2,000 calories a day.
WW is great and you can for sure keep at it but with how dedicated you are to fitness I would consider talking to someone about overall calories in vs. out for someone your size who needs to maintain.

this is an excellent idea...to be honest Colleen, it might be time to venture away from WW since you aren't trying to lose anymore?

Why don't you try for 1 week eating all your points everyday and doing what you normally do on the weekends.
You certainly aren't going to gain all 60lbs back in one week.
If it works then stick with it. Since you get weighed in regularly you'll know if you need to adjust something.

Re: WW Lifetime members or those trying to maintain their weight!

Thanks for the advice everyone!

To tell you the truth, I would love to try something new but I stick to WW for a few reasons: I'm comfortable with it, I love the meetings, and I go for free! I worked with a personal trainer/nutrionist and loved working with him...but i just can't afford it.

Jess- thank you for the idea. I probably should try that (maybe I'll go for it this week and see what happens). What I worry about that is the scale doesn't always reflect your week right away. But I should try it! Chat Icon

I agree. I totally get the fear part but you work out so hard your body needs those calories and it's going to burn them. You are thin and your metabolism is probably way up there b/c you have lost your weight the right way.
Give yourself a month of using your 35 points. I'll bet you earn more than that in AP's so you will be fine. You have to fuel your body to keep it healthy. Chat Icon

What about adding some things too like a little bit more healthy fats or some granola to a yogurt or protein bar between workouts. Don't add in junk, add in thinks that are going to keep you in the lifestyle you've created.

Re: WW Lifetime members or those trying to maintain their weight!

Thank you ladies! My goal for today is to eat ALL 35 points...even though I ate bad the past two days. I'm starting over today and eating all my points.

I'll be back to check in! You ladies can hold me accountable Chat Icon

Re: WW Lifetime members or those trying to maintain their weight!

I do the same Collen. During the week I watch and I stick to 29 points. Come the weekend I eat 2 slices of pizza on Friday and anything I want for dinner on Saturday and Sunday! However I have the same thing happen to me each month I go up 2 lbs then down 2lbs I am finally adjusting to it. I do want to lose another 2 lbs but have been having a hard time with the new program. Mind you I work out 5 days a week and am burning a ton of calories. I wonder what would happen if i didn'tChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I think you should try eating 35 pts a day as well. For me when I first did new program and ate 35 pts a day I was gaining so no way am I going past 29 during the week. Good Luck!
