WW points ???

Is it really bad if you don't eat all your points everyday? I've been REALLY trying to eat low point meals and by 10 pm last night, I realized I had only eaten 7.5 pts. I was hungry, so I ate a bowl of Special K but felt so guilty that I was eating so late and felt like I was "cheating"

Re: WW points ???

you are supposed to eat all of your points, every day. How did you get all of the healthy guidelines in eating only 7.5 points?

I don't think I didChat Icon This is my 1st week and I'm doing it on-line. I'm having a hard time coming up with meal plans. I'm also not a breakfast eater....I know I know, most important meal

eta: I also wasn't drinking nearly enough water every day and now that I am....I find that I'm just not hungry

Re: WW points ???

That is really bad for you, and you will see the scale will tell you the same thing.
You are putting your metabolism into starvation mode....you need to have mini meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going all day. You should eat something as soon as you wake up to start up your metabolism, after it has been inactive all night. I have been doing good with weight loss (35 lbs so far) and I have 6 meals a day, but keep them within my weight watcher points.

Granola bar @ 8 (2 pts)
Cereal @ 11:30 (4 pts)
Lunch @ 1 (5 pts)
Snack @ 3:30 (2 pts)
Dinner @ 6 (8 pts)
Snack @ 8:30 (3 pts)

Good luck!!

Re: WW points ???

I agree, NOT GOOD! I've had a few days here and there where I was shy a point or two for the day but 7.5 is not giving your body enough calories. Are you sure you are calculating the pts correctly?

Are you eating mostly veggies? You have to make sure you eat enough protein and carbs too (the good kind like whole wheat).

As an OP mentioned, try eating smaller meals throughout the day. It sounds like it will be hard for you b/c you are satisfied with only 7-8 pts but you will actually lose weight if you stick to the recommended amount.

Check out the recipe board. There is a thread for WW recipes that can help you with lunch and dinner ideas. And they also have a ton of recipes on the WW website. For breakfast I usually have oatmeal, Special K waffles or Special K cereal all with some fruit. HTH

Re: WW points ???

thanks for the replies ladies. I knew it couldn't be good to continue this way. Thanks for all your suggestions too. I would love to see some of YOUR sample daily menus just to get an idea. When I go to WW site, I feel like the meal ideas are good in theory but not in practice, kwimChat Icon

Re: WW points ???

my leader would tell us that if you are short points, then at least drink a glass of skim milk before bed, and you get your milk in that way...

I have shy points every once and while but not everyday... like the other ladies said you should be eating your points...

DH and I found the WW cookbooks to be EXTREMELY helpful! We use them all the time... i would use them even if we werent on WW... my favorites are the complete WW cookbooke, My program turnaround. I also love some of the other new ones, Pure Comfort and Pantry to plate... whenever i see a new one come out i buy it right away...i love them! Also, try doing a search on here for WW recipes... there are a few great ones!

I started online this week also and am having a hard time coming up with meals. I really need to put together a food shopping list with "WW friendly food". If you do a search, there are a lot of WW posts where people have given great recipes and list the foods they eat.

Re: WW points ???

Debbie!!!! Definitely not good. You need to eat all of our points and you should really be eating breakfast as well. In fact, I have not had a week where I have not finished all my extra 35 flex points. Here are some things I eat regularly:

Breakfast
-Egg sandwhich (1 pt light bagel from stop and shop toasted , 1 slice 2% cheese, 1.5 egg whites = 2.5 pts) - I usually make 3 egg whites at time and split it and microwave the second the next day.
-Instant oatmeal (2-3pts depending on what kind, apples and cinnamon is only 2)
-Special K cereal or any cereal for that matter (2-3 pts/serving) + 1 cup skim milk = 2 pts

Lunch
I eat a lot of leftovers for lunch but when I don't I like...
-Boars head lite hot dogs (2 pts) plus 1 light hot dog bun from s&s (1 pt) for a total of three with some frozen french fries 2pts/serving
-Stouffers lasagna microwave dinner - regular not lean cuisine only 6 pts!
-Kashi microwave lunch Chicken pomodoro - 5 pts
But usually I eat leftovers...

Dinner
Main meal
-Chicken thighs - 3 pts each (boneless, skinless)
-Steak
-Pork Chops
-Baked chicken tendorloins (dip in egg white and bake with bread crumbs)

Sides
-Corn on the Cob - 2pts for a large corn
-Brown rice - 1 cup = 4pts
-Whole wheat pasta - 3 pts/cup plus marinara sauce

Snacks/Desserts
FRUIT!!!
100 cal snacks
Trail mix
94% fat free popcorn
Edy's frozen fruit bars - 2pts each
Turkey hill sugar free fat free ice cream - 2pts/cup

Okay I'm tired now...hope this helps Deb Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: WW points ???

Thanks again, especially cjb r&j and azad for all that typing, lol

So I got some great ideas from you all and now I feel like I'm ready to conquer this flabChat Icon

I didn't eat all my points at all this week until today and it's so weird.....I feel like I was "bad" today. Maybe I'm just used to being on such restrictive diets that when I eat all my points it seems too good to be true, kwim?

Anyway, I weigh-in tomorrow AM (of course I ate a lot todayChat Icon ) so wish me luck!!!
