WWYD 2 Months old and vacation question
Some friends have invited us to the Outer Banks in late August. Nick will be just about 2 months old. It's a private house with 3 other couples. Two of the couples have small children. It would be a relaxing beach vacation (or as relaxing as you can be with kids )
I'm going to ask the Pediatrician her opinion as well, but I was curious as to what the BTDT moms here would do.
Would you go?
All opinions welcome!!
Thanks!

Re: WWYD 2 Months old and vacation question
Just my personal opinion but I dont think I would have taken DS on a vacation at that age for a few reasons.
First at 2 months his sleep at night was still very unpredictable and I wouldnt want him waking up a whole house of kids in the middle of the night. Also even this time of year kids have colds and I wouldnt have wanted to expose DS to that.
However its really up to you and your DH if you guys feel up to it then go for it.....

Re: WWYD 2 Months old and vacation question
Love the OBX! I definitely didn't feel up to it at 2 months---DS was colicky and up a lot at night and I don't think either one of us would have really enjoyed it at that age---we were just getting used to getting out of the house at that point!

Re: WWYD 2 Months old and vacation question
No, I wouldn't have at 2 months. 4 or 5 months yes, but at 2 months DS had colic and screamed every night. Having people over in the evenings only made it worse. He was also up a lot at night still at 2 months, so I would feel sort of bad for the others.
Maybe I would travel if I had my own place to stay in, but not with a group of people.

Re: WWYD 2 Months old and vacation question
Thanks ladies! DH and I talked about it (he obviously was more for it than I was) and I had all the same reasons for saying no. So we won't be going.
Thanks for the opinions.

Re: WWYD 2 Months old and vacation question
I took DD to Carolina Beach for a week when she was just about 2 months old. I had my SIL and mom there to help though. It really was pretty easy aside from all the gear we had to lug down. I brought a bouncy seat and she would sit in there on the deck or by the pool in the shade. When I did take her down to the beach, we just put her on a blanket underneath an umbrella. I would say go, you'll have a good time!

We took our son to Newport, RI at 2 months old. The easiest vacation we have been on with him. They are just so easy at that age. It was great!
