WWYD 2 questions

1) DS is 4 1/2 months, drinks about 42 oz's or more a day. I know that's ALOT, but he refuses to eat solids. He gags and spits it out. Does it matter that he's drinking so much?

2) DS only naps in his swing. He naps about an 1 hour in the morning and 2 -3 in the afternoon. Should I continue to let him nap in it until he doesn't like it (or fit in it) or should I start transistioning him out?

ETA: He sleeps GREAT in the crib all night. Screams when I put him in for a nap and seriously won't nap anywhere else. He naps maybe 1 hour total at daycare in the PNPChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: WWYD 2 questions

according to similac's guidelines, 4-7 month olds should drink 28-40oz of formula per day. So he is not that far over. Landon is the same age and drinks 36 ounces per day. He also eats 2 tbsp oatmeal once a day. It shouldn't matter that he is not eating solides. Our ped. said at this age the calories still come from the formula.

I don;t know about the swing. Landon hates his swing and screams every time I put him in it. he naps in his crib only while we are home. He naps in Pack-n-play or stroller while out. I wopuld try to transition him to the crib, but if it doesn't work then stick with the swing. Do whatever works for your son!

Chat Icon Chat Icon I thought my son was the only child who hated the swing.

He is def getting enough nutrients from his formula, so stick with that.

As for the swing, do a slow transition.
Try placing him in his crib for a little bit, and see what happens. Does he have a mobile inhis crib? Fischer Price makes a great crib activity called "Ocean Aquarium". Def worth a shot.

Good luck.
