WWYD, bleeding/cramping at 17 weeks?

Last week I had a horrible cold. I was taking Robitussin but my cough was still very strong. Last Friday I was cramping for a while and when I went to the bathroom I had a lot of blood, like a period. I got very nervous so I called my OB and ended up in the ER. They did tests and said the baby and I were fine it was probably from the coughing. The cramping and bleeding eventually tapered off over the next few days.

This Wednesday I had horrible lower back pain on my right side. I was still able to walk but it was very painful. again it subsided on its own.

Today, I woke up and I'm bleeding and cramping again. It feels like the 1st day of my period. I was coughing a little bit but not very much.

Should I call the doctor? Wait it out? Any other suggestions. I had minor spotting with my DS but only in a tiny bit here and there and only in the 1st trimester.

UPDATE: Called the doc. He couldnt give me an answer as to why it is happening. Said to wait about an hour to see if the bleeding lessens and the cramping subsides. If they dont, go to the L&D Triage. Mostly said to take it easy. NOT easy to do with a toddler!

Thanks ladies

UPDATE 10/3: I never got to the ER this weekend bc the bleeding slowly stopped. The cramping remained the same. Last night, Sunday, I took a spill down carpeted stairs in my in laws basement. I was fine afterward and wasnt worried b/c I felt DC kicking. This morning I woke up and was ridiculously sore and cramping a lot. DH stayed home so we went to the ER. Thankfully one of the doctors in my OB practice was on duty and we were fast tracked. Blood tests, urine, sonos and exams all went well and showed that the baby was perfect. The other issue was that my placenta is very low. Not previa yet but very close. I was given fluids for the cramping (which didnt help) and sent home. I go for my monthly exam on Thursday so I'm sure I'll find out more then.

thanks so much for all your comments and caring. everyone is saying to relax and take it easy but no one gets that my life as of lately doesnt condone it. i have responsibilities, especially to my DS, and I can't just put things on hold. I wasn't "built that one". Trying my best to take it easy but its hard.

I would call the dr and let them know you are bleeding again. They might want to see you just to make sure everything is fine.

I would call and tell them. I had spotting through the 1st and into the 2nd trimesters and my dr wanted me to call every time it happened. I felt like I was being a PITA but its for the best.

I would definitely call your doctor. Even if it's "nothing" it's best to hear it from them for peace of mind.

Re: WWYD, bleeding/cramping at 17 weeks?

UPDATE: I haven't stopped bleeding or cramping. The blood is brown "old blood". I have done everything I could to relax. We couldnt leave DS yesterday or today. If its continuing tomorrow, we are going to the ER.

If you are worried I would just go to the ER to give yourself some peace of mind. It is no unbelievably nerve wracking to see bleeding. Thinking good thoughts, feel better!
