WWYD? Transition from formula to milk
I just want thoughts/opinions.
Troy will be 11 months tomorrow.
My SIL's DD's ped told her to have DD switched to whole milk by 11 mos.
Our Ped never mentioned anything at his last appt (9 mo) and when I called today to sched his 1 yr appt I asked the nurse about switching over to milk. She said not to do it now and to wait until after his 1 yr appt.
I kind of want to start to wean him now. He is on regular formula, and I have prepared meals for him using whole milk and he has had no issues.
Thoughts? Concerns?

Our Ped. said to wait till ABOUT 1 year.... so i decided to start now since she will be 1 on the 26th. I mean its not that many days away

I got my schedule at the 9 month appt and they said he could/should be on milk around 11-12 months.
I would do whatever you want really

My ped told me that at 11 months we should switch to milk - but we didn't discuss any further. If you prefer him to drink milk, I say go ahead -- he's your baby!

i think it's ok to start now a little at a time. just make sure he gets all the nutrients and vitamins he needs.

My ped said to start tranitioning at 11 1/2 months by giving one bottle a day of milk for three days, then two bottles a day for three days, etc., etc. until he's totally on milk. Thomas will be completely transitioned by Friday!

We were told to start adding whole milk to the formula on April 1st. Our kids are the same age. They said to substiture one ounce of milk in each bottle for 2 days, then 2 oz for 2 days and so on til its all milk. By May there will be NO MORE FORMULA!!! YEAH!!! I kinda cant wait!

My ped. said to wait until one year. after 1 yr. appt. we switched DD immediately to milk without problems (no weaning needed). The only thing was that the ped. didn't want her to have more than 16 oz. of milk per day (where she wanted her to get no less than 20-28 oz. of formula per day). (One reason was that)..She said it'd be too constipating.
