WWYD? Which tent option would you pick

DS' 1st bday is in 9 days. The place i was going to rent my tent from no longer has the tent i requested ( stupid me for waiting) but have the best price which is important at this point.

I expect between 40-60 guests. I'd have a better idea if people actually RSVP'd.

I wanted a 20x30 pole tent.

They have available a 20x20 frame tent which they said comfortably fits 50 people (5 tables, 50 chairs) or a 20x40 pole tent which of course if bigger and gives us more room.

Here's the dilemma: the 20x20 frame tent is supposedly a nicer tent, has a peak, no center poles, typically more expensive but I'm worried about having enough room. The 20x40 tent ensures that it is big enough but it will take over my entire backyard, will probably overpower the space and will leave minimal room for the kids to run around.

Which would you get?

I'd get the smaller, nicer one that doesn't take up your whole backyard. If it's not raining, it will be nice for people to hang outside of the tent and if it is, it should be fine anywho since some of the people that haven't RSVP'd probably won't be coming anyway.

I'd get the smaller. Everyone probably won't be all under it at the same time.

I'm sorry but there is NO WAY a 20x20 could fit that many people comfortably. I've always had 50-60 people for parties and will not go smaller than a 20x30. Are you planning on putting food inside the tent too? You have to consider the space for that and people to get to it! You had the right idea with going with a 20x30 and yes a frame is nicer then a pole so if they don't have it why not use another vendor?
