X-Post - ABN AMRO Mortgage Customers!!

Did you know - that last month, a computer tape containing information about you and your mortgage account was lost while being transported by DHL courier service!!!!

Information including your name, account number, payment history, AND SS#'s - was all on that tape!!!

and get this - this affects 2 MILLION customer accounts!!!!

i'm so friggin mad i could choke someone right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a notice in the mail this evening about it. The thing that pisses me off the most is that although they are allowing us to sign up for 3 months of a credit alert service, what about after that????

They have absolutely no problem taking my money each month, but they seem to have a very carefree attitude when it comes to theft of my personal info that was in their custody.

Hubby and I are furious!!!! Nice identity theft waiting to happen to all of us right there!!!!!I am having my lawyer review the letter. It's very scary!

My DH and I were so freakin mad. I wanted to cry when I got the letter. I called the hotline and was told that they is was lost and not stolen! Yeah right! They also told that they would increase the protection to one year.
