Stout, just out the back door next to old navy is decent, so is Tir Na N'Og on 6th avenue there is also a restaurant called Il CAmpange ...more sit down then the above two, which are bar like. its on 32 / 33rd (you would think after >10 years commuting I would know what block it is). I haven't eaten there, but I did read reviews and it seemed decent
Neils is in the Affina hotel - they do a fantastic breakfast

Tir Na Nog is on 8th Ave btw.. not 6th - good Irish pub with good food (a bit expensive tho)
I second the Stout recommendation - big bar, but also lots of table room and a wide range of food.
Jimmys BBQ is on 8th and 32nd - basic bbq.
What sort of place are you looking for?

Just a casual place - a bar is fine. Something quick as well. We might only have an hour or so to eat.
Thanks to all for the suggestions! I will talk to my cousin - he will probably know of some of these places.

I want to add Brother Jimmy's as well. The only thing is- depending on what time- the service can be a bit slow...

If you want fast Stout is a good place...they rush you through. Good food though.
FATS next door is really good too - it's homestyle comfort food. They have things like ribs, po boys, chicken fried steak plus a large appetizer menu.
