Re: X-post from Health -Please read if you've had a torn meniscus!!
I tore both my meniscus, and my ACL skiing n 07. It still has a weird numb feeling sometimes. I can't say just how bad the meniscus is alone, though, but I will say, when I had my surgery, I was out of work for almost 8 weeks. It was really very painful. I know there are different degrees of tears, mne was fairly severe, as it was all the way through, and they used part of my hamstring, whichalso took time to heal.
I did go to 8 months of PT, and that saved me. Do you know the severity of the tear? Keep in mind, too that the ACL, was worse than the meniscus.
Do you need a dr. rec?

Thanks for the rec offer but I'm down in Florida. I'm having my MRI on Friday so the dr. doesn't even know yet that it's a tear but he felt that it probably was. I'm just thinking (stressing ) ahead of time.
