my 50mm 1.4 doesnt leave my camera- its my workhorse....
i have an 18-200 that i sometimes need to pop on if I need to back up from a subject and i dont have the room to (indoors)...and it is good for outdoors too....
i am in the market for the 24-70 1.8 and maybe the 85mm 1.8
but in the market for a new camera too, maybe the 700, but i just bought a laptop, so i am waiting....
i know lori is in the market for the 24-70 lens too, and i know she has the 50mm.....
50mm ROCKS, get that above anything else.....

Ummmm - absolutely hands down the 50mm 1.4 - like Summer, its my workhorse. I do all my jobs with it.
Both Summer and I are both looking into the 24-70......but its a huge expense so we're saving our pennies and praying to win lotto
I would invest in good glass - you'll see a difference in the photos so its worth the investment.
I also have the 18-135 and I like that for outdoors (beach, park, etc) for moving children and any landscapes that I may want to capture.
Email me if you need anything

Thank you both!
Is the 50mm a better glass...is that what makes it a great lens?

Totally agree with Summer and Lori! I'm not a photog per say, but I have settled on my lenses for now, after going through and trying out many.
LOVE my 50mm 1.4. I also use my 18-200mm VR, basically outdoors. Those are the two that are always with me. I do have 2 more lenses that came with my camera, but they are redundant. Well, except for my 70-300, but I never see the need for it.
No more lenses for me. For now We need our money for other things

I have the 18-200mm (compliments of the ladies on here!), a 70-300mm, and recently the 50mm f/1.4G

It's a great lens. What's amazing about it is it can go as low as f/1.4 which enables you to take photos indoor, no flash. The only thing that drives me crazy you only have 50mm, which is hard to get used to not having that zoom after using it for so long.
If you want to meet up to try it out, let me know.

This is what I was wondering. I'm use to having a zoom with the standard lens that comes w/the camera (18-55) and the 75-300. BUT I love the idea that it enables you to take pictures indoors without a flash. I'm sure I can get use to it. I wish I would have gotten the 18-200 instead of the 75-300. Too much to choose from...not enough money
Thank you for the offer to try it out. I think I just may pick it up. Since it comes highly recommended from some VERY talented ladies
