XPost - dogs doing their business on your lawn
I'm trying to figure out what to do. There's even a poll.

Train him to pee before you start walking. Take him out to a certain spot everytime, give him a command, we use "go potty" and stay there till he does. Then he should be good for your walk.
Is your dog fixed and are you planning to have him fixed? That should cut down on the marking and peeing all over.

Re: XPost - dogs doing their business on your lawn
We're close to having our fence installed which will allow us to have him do his business in our yard. Then the walk after.
He doesn't actually mark. He pees in one spot per walk, and he's done. He's not fixed yet but I've had his bloodwork done and we go back in 3 weeks for a followup so we'll probably make his appt then.
It wasn't that I was asking advice, I was just curious what people thought/felt about it. I know I was a little miffed about it once (when a chick wasn't going to clean up after her dog) but now that I'm on the other side, I'm a little embarassed about it. You know?
Anyway, it appears a lot of people get upset from those poll choices so I'm going to concentrate more on getting him to do his business on our property. Then walk.
