I would contact the vet, as it could be a UTI.
But also, you mention that you are pregnant. As odd as it sounds....animals can sense things like this. He might be acting out because he knows that something is changing with you, and this is his way of dealing with it.

So if that is the case then how do I reslove this issue?
I am going to collect a urine sample and bring it to the vet to rule out the UTI.

I have a male cat; I adopted him about 5 years ago after he was surrendered to the vet because his urinary tract was twisted. The owners wanted to put him down (he was only 5) but the vet took him and fixed him.
There were times he peed in different places so I would definitely have him checked out for either a blockage or UTI.
Also, we wound up getting a second litter box for him and knock on wood we haven't had any problems with him urinating again.
Hope kitty gets better!
