Yes - call the vet!

There was one time when my brother and his friends left a bucket of chicken wings & leg bones on on the floor, and I found Gizmo licking the bucket! I wasn't sure if he ate anything (bones included) so I call the emergency vet and they told me to feed him bread immediatley, and to watch his stools for blood.

If it's a big dog, honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Chances are she swallowed it whole and it didn't splinter.

My dogs have stolen chicken off the grill before and they were fine. Just keep an eye on her.

Re: xpost: help my dog just ate...

thanks.

its a black lab so she is pretty big, but not huge.

She definitely at least bit the bone in half. Because there was a piece on the floor. I don't know if she actually chewed it or not, I'm sure she did since she is such a pig.

I am so surprised she did that. That is not like her to steal food off the counter.

She'll be fine. My dog was a little bigger than a lab and he would steal stuff off the grill all the time, the counter too. You couldn't leave him alone for 2 seconds.

Keep an eye on her from now on Now that she knows she can do it, she'll try it all the time.
