Xpost to FHF - Home Remedy for Cold Sore?
Naturally, I have a huge one on my lip right in time for the first day of school on friday! I've been trying a combination of Abreva, Aquaphor, Lysiene, but to no avail.
Any good home remedies?

I had 2 ridiculous cold sores in a row a few months ago. I started taking Lysine - free form. I mean a LOT of it when I had the cold sores. Now I take one pill every night. If I think I feel somethign starting, I will take an extra.
Not sure if it helped or not - but I also opened the lysine pill and mixed the powder with raw honey to make a "paste" that I put on my lip at night when I had the cold sores.
They are the worst.

I take acidophilus as soon as I feel a twinge. I also use Abreva. Most times if I use these early enough it will fight it off.. but sometimes it is a no win situation. I usually get them when stressed.
