XPOST: what paint brand to use ... does everyone use Benjamin Moore?

We are moving in to a new house (just closed on Friday   ). We are baiscally painting every room in the house.
question is which paint brand to use. It seems like everyone use Benjamin Moore. Does anyone actually use another brand they want to recommend

We used Valspar (from Lowes) for our nursery and it came out great!

Whole house is Behr. The crown moulding was painted with BM though, it just covered better

LOVE Behr's. Especially the one with the primer already in. Goes on beautifully.

I have used Benjamin Moore aura, the regular Behr from home depot, and the Behr with the primer in it. Benjamin Moore was my favorite, very easy to use and dries quickly so you can finish a room in a few hours. It's very expensive though $55. The behr paint with primer in it was pretty comparable and a better price. I had them match a benjamin Moore color...

Sherwin Williams. We had an eggplant purple accent wall in our bedroom and I wanted to repaint the whole room light blue. I hammered DH about priming it because he didn't want to. Anyway, one coat did it- I was amazed. I also did white over an olive green and it covered really well.

we've used both Behr and Valspar from both Home Depot and Lowe's and both were a dream to work with. Both are also cheaper than Benjamin Moore, although we have used them as well in the past

I have to tell you- the new one from Home Depot- the Behr Ultra with the primer built in- blows away BM and is like HALF the price.
(we still prime because our walls are very bad- but the paint itself is excellent)

Valspar is one of the ones we are considering using glad to hear it came out nice!

Yes Behr is Home Depot's own brand.
But I know Lowe's makes something very comparable as well.

Our whole house is Mythic Paint . It's one of the only 100% no-VOC paints out there. The big-name brands that say "zero" mean that the white base has less than the legal amount to qualify as zero, even if it does have some VOCs. Then, the colorant can have tons of VOCs, but the paint still qualifies as "zero VOC".
